In addition to this blog, we're now writing restaurant reviews for Current! We'll be posting extra photos from our expeditions here. Enjoy the photos, then stop over at eCurrent to read our review of Marnee Thai to learn what we thought of these dishes and others.
Larb Tod — Minced chicken with ground toasted rice, mint leaves, shallots, and green onion in a Thai northeastern-style dressing.

Mixed appetizer — fried shrimp, spring rolls, satay skewers, tod mun (fish cakes)
Yum neua yang — spicy beef salad
Lotus Eggplant — crispy fried eggplant topped with spicy ground pork
Above, Marnee Catfish — fried catfish marinated in turmeric with a spicy topping of chili paste, shrimp paste, lemongrass, mint, shallots, cilantro, green onions, and green apple.
Below, Bua Loy — sweet taro pearls in a coconut cream sauce
I adore Lotus Thai, but haven't been to Marnee Thai yet. I love the lotus eggplant and a similar dish which is a lunch special at Lotus Thai. Having had Thai in NYC and Boston, these recipes have really been among my favorites. Lovely photography and the review of Marnee Thai was interesting to read, too.

Marnee Thai is great! I've been there several times for their lunch specials.

Marnee Thai offers the best catfish in all of the different Thai restaurants I've been so far. The fish meat is tender, the chili and shrimp paste offers spicy-salty oriental mixture. Truly amazing experience.
